2021 Poetry Challenge
DEADLINE - Friday, January 29, 2021
Amateurs, semi-professionals, professionals and students of all ages are invited to submit original poetry in response to the 2021 Poetry Challenge. This year Highland Park Poetry challenges poets to write a response to one of the following prompts:
- Fruits and Vegetables (the United Nations has declared 2021 the year of Fruits & Vegetables; ok to concentrate on one)
- Common Threads
- Sweetelle (poetic form by Allison Joseph)

Due to the coronavirus crisis, Highland Park Poetry cancelled all its scheduled live, in-person poetry events and began posting daily poems on Facebook.
We have continued this practice and welcome poem submissions. Poets are asked to share poems about the coronavirus, sheltering-in-place, or poems about endurance or poems that inspire calm. Here are the poems from September 2020.
